Zechstein Inside® magnesium chloride from a pure source comes from the Northern Netherlands; mined from a layer one mile deep, this magnesium chloride has been naturally compacted and purified over 250 million years. The fastest and most effective way to relieve magnesium deficiency is through the skin – for example, by taking foot baths to which magnesium chloride flakes have been added. Magnesium flakes added to bath water are absorbed into the porous epidermis and through it into the blood vessels and muscles, where the effect of magnesium is most immediate.

A body with a sufficient magnesium supply is more flexible, does not tire as easily and is better able to heal itself. A sufficient amount of magnesium in the body helps relieve and relax muscle cramps, improves sleep quality and makes it easier to fall asleep.

MAGNESIUM FLAKES

100g of magnesium flakes contains 12 g of pure magnesium.

• Foot bath: Dissolve 150 g (about a glassful) of flakes in warm water, put your feet in the water and relax for at least 20 minutes.
• Bath: Dissolve 250g of flakes in warm bath water and relax for at least 20 minutes.

It is recommended to take 2-3 magnesium baths a week for the feet or the whole body. If needed, you can do this more often.

Magnesium flakes can be used at any age, including during pregnancy and breastfeeding. For children we recommend halving the amount – their daily requirement is not as high as that of adults.

MAGNESIUM OIL

Eight sprays of magnesium oil contain about 100 mg of pure magnesium.

• Spray 5–10 times over the whole body and massage in. It is good to use the oil after a shower or bath, as the skin is then warm and the pores open, which helps the magnesium absorb better.
• Do not apply to wounds or sensitive areas, such as around the eyes. The oil should primarily be applied to joints and muscles and other areas of concern. Can also be used during pregnancy.
• Magnesium oil sprayed directly onto the skin is absorbed into the porous epidermis and through it into the blood vessels and muscles. This way the magnesium does not reach the digestive system, from where many nutrients are not absorbed at all.
• The oil can be used at any age, but for children we recommend halving the amount – their daily magnesium requirement is not as high as that of adults.

MAGNESIUM TINGLING

On first use you may feel a slight itching or tingling. This may be a sign of magnesium deficiency in the body and is caused by the rapid absorption of magnesium into the skin. With regular use the tingling subsides. Since magnesium starts to absorb immediately, you can dry the skin with a towel after massaging in the oil.
