The collection has 11 products: two shampoos, a conditioner, a scalp oil, a scalp tonic, two body care products, an essential oil, two travel sizes and a gift box. Every formula is developed and made in our own production facility in Tapa, Lääne-Virumaa, Estonia.

Why start with the scalp?

Hair grows from the scalp. Density, itching and flaking all begin with what happens on the surface of the skin. A scalp that is in good condition creates the conditions for hair that is in good condition.

The Nurme rosemary collection is built on that idea. We care for the place the hair comes from. The result is a calmer scalp, less flaking, and hair that stays clean longer after washing.

What does rosemary do for the scalp?

Rosemary essential oil (Rosmarinus officinalis) is the ingredient the whole collection is built around. It smells fresh and herbal and brings a bracing feel to the washing routine. In studies, rosemary oil has been associated with improved microcirculation in the scalp, which helps keep the scalp in good condition and creates favourable conditions for hair growth.

What about a flaking scalp?

The scalp is a living ecosystem. When its microbiome is in balance, there is less itching and flaking. Tea tree oil (Melaleuca alternifolia) is a traditional plant ingredient for scalps prone to flaking, and it has been studied extensively in that use. The component behind the effect is mainly terpinen-4-ol.

This combination of tea tree and rosemary is what you will find in Nurme’s anti-dandruff rosemary shampoo (97.56% natural). The shampoo also contains lavender oil, allantoin, provitamin B5, hydrolysed wheat protein and menthol.

The 4-step rosemary routine

The collection was developed as a routine, not as a set of separate products. Each step builds on the previous one. You will notice something from a single step, but the best result comes from the whole routine.

Step 1: ACTIVATE. Rosemary scalp oil (50 ml, 100% natural). With castor oil, sesame oil, jojoba and peppermint oil. Use: 1-2 times a week before washing, leave on for 30-60 minutes.

Step 2: CLEANSE. Choose according to your needs:

• Hair that feels thinner, slow growth: Rosemary shampoo for hair growth (250 ml, 98.7% natural). With provitamin B5 and hydrolysed wheat protein.
• Flaking, itching, irritated scalp: Anti-dandruff rosemary shampoo (250 ml, 97.56% natural). With tea tree oil and lavender oil.

Step 3: CONDITION. Rosemary hair conditioner (250 ml, 99.62% natural). With argan oil, sunflower oil and provitamin B5. Use: on the lengths only, not on the scalp.

Step 4: BOOST. Rosemary scalp tonic (100 ml, 96.27% natural). With a hyaluronic acid derivative and red kapok flower extract, which supports the balance of the scalp microbiome. Use: daily on a clean scalp, no rinsing needed.

NB! Before use, make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients. If your skin becomes irritated, stop using the product.

When will you notice a result?

The first changes are usually felt within 3-4 weeks: the scalp feels better and flaking decreases. Density changes more slowly and needs consistent use over 3-6 months. The routine works for as long as you keep using it.

Does rosemary shampoo help with hair growth?

Rosemary shampoo cleanses the scalp gently and creates favourable conditions for hair growth. In studies, rosemary essential oil has been associated with improved circulation in the scalp. Use the shampoo consistently for at least 4-6 months and combine it with the scalp oil and the tonic.

How long does it take to see a result?

Is rosemary essential oil suitable for children?

Concentrated rosemary essential oil is not recommended for children under 6. In the shampoo and the conditioner the amount of essential oil is calibrated to cosmetic safety requirements, and those products are suitable from school age. For babies, Nurme has a separate fragrance-free baby range.

What is the difference between the scalp oil and the tonic?

The scalp oil is more concentrated (100% natural) and is used 1-2 times a week before washing, left on for 30-60 minutes. The tonic is lighter (96.27% natural) and is meant for daily spraying on a clean scalp, with no rinsing. Both can be used together: oil before washing, tonic after.

Is rosemary suitable for coloured hair?

Yes. The Nurme rosemary collection contains no SLS or SLES sulphates, so it does not fade hair colour as quickly as conventional shampoos. The pH is calibrated to a hair-friendly range of 4.5-5.5.

Does rosemary shampoo help with dandruff?

The classic rosemary shampoo can help with mild flaking. For more stubborn flaking we recommend the anti-dandruff rosemary shampoo, which also contains tea tree and lavender oil.

Do the products comply with EU cosmetics legislation?
