In production it always happens that a small drop of oil is left at the bottom of a bottle or a little soap remains stuck to the mould. Nurme’s motto is to produce without production waste and to make maximum use of everything. This is how the package-free soap was born, containing the offcuts that come with the production of all our soaps.

You get more of the package-free mixed soap at once, so that there is no need to burden the environment with transport for every single bar of soap. The shipment reaches you in a paper bag, which is good for storing the soaps until it is their turn to be used. The soap does not require special storage conditions and can be kept on a shelf or in a cupboard in ordinary home conditions for years, if not decades. See our other package-free soaps HERE.

All Nurme bar soaps are made from natural components using the cold-process method. To achieve the highest quality, we cure the bar soaps at the right temperature for at least 30 days. During this time the water originally added evaporates, the soap saponifies, becomes harder and longer-lasting. The longer a bar soap cures, the more it dries and loses weight, being like an aged hard cheese that offers an experience to true natural cosmetics gourmets.

The weight on the packaging is the net value in grams at the moment of packing, i.e. after 30 days of curing. You can read more about how Nurme soaps are made HERE.

Check the period-after-opening (PAO) symbol on the packaging — most natural products are best used within 6–12 months of opening.

Yes. With any new natural product we recommend a small patch test, especially if you have sensitive or allergy-prone skin.
